چکیده

The acceptability of four transformer top-oil thermal models are examined vis-à-vis training with measured data. Acceptability is defined as having the qualities of adequacy, consistency, and accuracy. Metrics are used to characterize the likely deficiencies of these models. It is shown that: the classical IEEE/ANSI standard model is unacceptable for model identification purposes. The linear top-oil model is acceptable for FOFA transformers but not NOFA. The models by Susa et al. [7] and Swift et al. [5], [6], may be useful for FOFA transformers and NOFA transformers. Further research with larger training data sets is warranted.

Acceptability of Four Transformer Top-Oil Thermal Models: Part 1: Defining Metrics

Eventually, the prediction of transformer thermal performance for dynamic loading will be made using models distilled from measured data, rather than models derived from transformer heat-run tests. Which model(s) will be used for this purpose remains unclear. In this paper, we introduce metrics for measuring the acceptability of transformer thermal models. For a model to be acceptable, it must ...

Analyzing and Comparing the Hot-spot Thermal Models of HV/LV Prefabricated and Outdoor Oil-Immersed Power Transformers

The most important parameter in transformers life expectancy is the hot-spot temperature level which accelerates the rate of aging of the insulation. The aim of this paper is to present thermal models for transformers loaded at prefabricated MV/LV transformer substations and outdoor situations. The hot-spot temperature of transformers is studied using their top-oil temperature rise models. The ...

An Investigation on Stability, Electrical and Thermal Characteristics of Transformer Insulting Oil Nanofluids

Transformer insulating oil nanofluid is made to improve dielectric and thermal properties of the oil by employing nanoparticles with proper properties. In the current work, nanofluids based on transformer mineral oil were prepared by three procedures using diamond nanoparticles with high thermal conductivity, as well as high dielectric properties. It was tried to consider the impacts of surfact...

Different Electric Vehicle Charging Strategies to avoid Reducing the Insulation Oil Lifetime of Distribution Transformers

Abstract: The widespread presence of uncontrolled electric vehicles causes overloading of distribution network equipment. One of these equipments is distribution transformer, which should pay attention to overloading and reducing lifetime of this equipment due to charging of electric vehicles. First, strategies have been proposed to investigate the effect of electric vehicle penetration level a...
